Meet The Parents

“Are you sure the table settings are spotless? he asks, watching for his parent’s arrival.

“Absolutely”she replies from the bedroom “I washed and polished everything by hand.”

“Good! Make sure you put on the dress I chose for you and I want your hair done up in a bun; not hanging messy on your shoulders. Please go easy on the make-up and for heaven’s sake NO perfume, my parents are very particular about that.”

“Anything else your majesty?” she snaps

“No, nothing. You’ll look perfect, they are going to love you as much as I do.”

I’m glad she’s snapping. She’ll need sharp teeth to gnaw her way through the bars of that cage.

Yeah, I don’t think that one’s going to work for long. Had you had a few more words, it might have turned into a nice FF murder story. (“Parent’s arrival” need the apostrophe moved to the other side of the ‘s’.)

Sounds like a perfect control freak! She should run like h*ll, right now! 🙂 Well written.

Oh, god! What a tyrant! I don’t think she will stay there for long. Very well written! 🙂

Get out the airport guy’s light wands and wave this poor lady off… now!

Oh that sounds painful! Glad I wasn’t invited

Something tells me that she better wear her hair loose and a skimpy dress… just as a test… i think it might be better to put it to an end at once.

Oh dear! I hope she puts her hair into a particularly messy bun just to spite him. It could be time for her to walk away from this relationship–especially if the parents are as demanding as he appears in this vignette.

Ugly. He’s not a nice man. Well done.

I really liked how his turns from his parents’ over-particularness (is that a word?) to his. I think we can see where he got it from, and once she has met the parents i don’t think she will be around for much lomger…
