Tree Climbing Poppy

Can you see them ?

Mommy says they are coming today.

I can’t wait to see Nana and Grampie, they have been gone since forever

Nana makes the bestest cookies in the whole wide world

Sparky woofs in agreement

and Grampie takes us to the park and plays ball and pushes the swing and lifts me high into the clouds and buys me icecream

Sparky drools just thinking of french vanilla

A red car turns the corner and slowly drives past. It’s not them.

sparky shakes his head no

Amanda sighs and kicks at the dirt

it’s taking too long ..

Such a real voice here.. this is how it should say.. waiting took for ever when you where a kid… and probably the same for dogs.

I like the voice of the child here…very effective. Also enjoyed the concept of the dog as a lookout 🙂

That’s such an apt take on the prompt, captures it beautifully.

I really like the “realness” of this. Time to children is often so different than to us. I used to make paper chains with one link for each day until vacation so that the girls could cut off one link each day and have some idea how long it would be. Wonderful little vignette here.

You’ve done a wonderful job of capturing a child’s voice. This feels so authentic and real… if dogs spoke. 😉 Nice job!

Nicely done Miss Raspberry! Definitely agree with what the others said: You’ve done a wonderful job of capturing a child’s voice 😀
