Come and join the fun !

Masquerade

The upcoming Halloween masquerade  party was the talk of the office. Ideas for costumes had been discussed at great length and everyone was looking forward to the big night, especially Jack.

He’d had his eye on a co-worker for some time and had never been able to get up the nerve to ask for a date. Hopefully this would be his chance to get a little closer, who knew? Perhaps even a dance.

The fateful night arrived and  he was very nervous, extremely shy by nature, he knew that this would be his only chance. Before he could even muster up the nerve to ask, the object of his affection approached him.

I have watched you watching me

I am sorry

You misunderstand, I have hoped for an invitation

Jacks face lit up, he slowly reached out his hand and led Tom on to the dance floor.

What a brilliant story and I love the twist at the end. Fantastic.

Very unexpected ending. I like it when I’m caught off guard. Excellent buildup to a clever finish.
