A Man’s Home Is His Castle

Montague’s castle was not as ornate as that of his neighbours. He knew that the lords and ladies often laughed about it behind his back.

While the other men were always off plundering riches in far-away places, he preferred staying home with his loving wife and family.

He could often be seen running wild in the fields with his children playing “duck, duck, goose.” Or sipping tea in the shade of the castle walls with his young daughters.

“You’ll not be getting rich that way” his fellow lords would jeer.

Montague would simply smile and nod sympathetically. How foolish they were. While they were virtually strangers to their wives and children, he was dearly loved by his.

Perhaps they were living a life of luxury but he was living a life of love.

He was rich beyond compare.

You can’t beat love. The richest feeling of all. If you have love, you don’t need riches 🙂

    Excellent story 🙂

I guess that’s why my dust bunnies multiply so easy – as I’d rather spend time with my family. …hmm, are you local…I’d hire you for me!

A richness beyond compare. Thanks for your visit.

I absolutely love your story. Absolutely love it. Did I mention that I loved it, lol! Thank you Patricia, you’ve put the riches of life exactly where there belong and come from – the heart! Excellent!:)

Whoah, what an important message about richness, great take on the prompt and portraying how the most important things in life aren’t things at all!
